Key Findings
Children’s Health & Care
Many children with special needs require physiotherapy, medication, and specialized medical attention.
Facilities
Sanitation and hygiene are commendably maintained. The home provides regular meals and structured routines for the children.
Administration
The home maintains records for feeding, schooling, medication, and medical visits. Reports are submitted to supervisors for accountability.
Staffing
Dedicated caregivers manage daily routines, though there is limited access to professional medical support.
Gender Distribution
Primarily houses girls, with a smaller group of boys under the supervision of a resident priest.
Identified Gaps
- Irregular access to medical professionals
- Limited funding for specialized treatment
- Inconsistent medical supplies and equipment
- Low visibility to potential donors and volunteers
Recommendations
- Monthly Medical Visit Plan: Partner with clinics, NGOs, or volunteer doctors for regular checkups.
- Limited funding for specialized treatment
- Health Support Fund: Create a donation-driven fund for medications and emergency care.
- Community Engagement: Encourage professionals to “adopt a child’s health” for sustained care.
Conclusion
The St. Theresa Motherless Home demonstrates strong dedication to child welfare but faces significant healthcare gaps. Strategic
partnerships with medical professionals, NGOs, and donors can strengthen its healthcare delivery and ensure lasting impact on the
children’s well-being.
